Ever since I upgrade to ACID Pro 6 I've had a problem with it crashing. I never had this problem with ACID 5. It seems to be caused by the same issue every time and has something to do with the rewire .dll. I can't replicate the problem as it seems to occur at random. I think it occurs when I try to do some editing and I work too quickly - perhaps ACID can't keep up and crashes??? Has anyone else experienced this problem relating to the rewire connections in ACID 6? Does ACID 6 keep a record of crashes so that I can send the info to Sony for debugging? |

Have you upgraded to 6a, yet? I had a real bad problem with version 6 crashing as well as very major bugs rendering the program unusable. The new upgrade to version 6a has solved every problem I had, now the program is working like a dream! |

I have upgraded to 6a but I'm still getting these crashes now and again. I think it's to do with Rewire because before the crash a message mentioning Rewire pops up. I've even reinstalled ACID from scratch to sort out a problem with midi files not loading into ACID but even with the re-install the crashes continue. If I'm working on a project it may crash once a day after working for about 4 hours. I was hoping that ACID kept a log of crashes so that I can send it to Sony but I can't find anything so far. The only common thing with all thecrashes is the message about Rewire. I can't seem to replicate the crash intentionally - it happens out of the blue. I wish I could disable Rewire because I never use it especially now that ACID has much better midi functions. Message last edited on6/12/2006 10:07:58 AM bySpectralis. |

This has nothing do to with ReWire. These warning dialogs are not under the control of ACID. They are displayed by the ReWire system dll. They are "gibberish" and provide no idication of what went wrong other than someting went wrong that is 99.999999% of the time competely unrelated to ReWire. Since ACID is a ReWire host, is has connected to the ReWire subsystem. Whe ACID crashes for what ever reason - internal bug, or buggy plugin, it cannot always clean up the connection to the ReWire system. The ReWire subsystem that Propellerheads provides appears to have left some debugging code in its release version. When any host that has connected to the ReWire subsystem has failed to disconnect, the ReWire subsystem puts up these dialogs. So, the rewire msgs are not helpful in determining the cause. Can you provide any other information regarding these random crashes? What plugins you are using? External MIDI? Softsynths? Audio hardware? Etc, etc. Thanks, Peter |
