Subject:Hold shift key to disable snapping issue

I've been working on a project in 6.0a and have discovered that when I hold the shift key to disable snapping, more often than not, it doesn't work. What happens is that the event/clip/track simply won't move at all (these are one-shot events I'm referring to). This is intermittent and I can't determine why this is happening. Sometimes it will work properly but most of the time is doesn't. If I disable snapping on the toolbar, I can move the events just fine. Anyone else experience this?

No - but I have found that AP6 seems to get overwhelmed, at times, with the various mouse gestures - esp. if the viewing area is concentrated (in other words, when a lot of song is drawn in a small space); e.g., the trimming action gets in the way of selecting, which gets in the way of dragging which gets in the way of etc. etc. Try magnifying your work area - that's what I end up doing.

Thanks – Yes I did try experimenting with various zoom sizes but it didn't seem to affect it. In fact, expanding the track and zooming in seemed like the most intuitive thing to try. But again, sometimes it worked and sometimes not. For now I've resorted to using the disable button so I can continue with this project but obviously it is getting to be pretty tedious.

Update. It seems now that the hold shift key is not working at all for this function. However, F8 does toggle snapping on/off as it is supposed to. Since nobody else has reported in about this, I'm wondering if it may have something to do with my specific keyboard. Its a farily new Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse but the shift key appears to work as it should on other normal functions. Weird. . .

Peter, if you're monitoring this, I'd appreciate any input you may have.

Thanks!

I can't reproduce this. Holding shift down while dragging an event disables snapping.

Thanks Peter. Could be the keyboard - I'll check it out with a different one.
