Subject:So many problems already just playing back

I'm not the type to complain too much, but I can't even do the basic stuff.

#1 - Playback stops when dragging the blue scroll bar (either the horizontal or vertical). If I click to the left or right of the blue scroll bar, in the grey area, it's scrolls and playback continues fine. But if I click on the blue scroll bar and drag it left or right, it stops playing. I see the play button is still pressed down but I don't see the line moving. Even if I press stop and press play again, the button looks pressed down but the line doesn't move. And I've waited for a minute. This happens with the couple of ACID 4.0 files I've tried and also the Vast Horizon it came with. The only way I can get the file to play again is to open it up tghe file again.

#2 - I cannot playback using Digi001 ASIO driver. I can select it but when I press play: "An error occured while starting playback. The request is not enabled for this device." I am able to playback with the Microsoft SoundMapper selected. The Digi001 ASIO works fine with SoundForge 8, Harbal, T-Racks, Windows Media Player.

#3 - My Tranzport doesn't work with it. When I add it as a control device it says "Device not detected". But I can see the Tranzport icon on my task bar "blink" whenever I press a key on it and it works fine with ProTools.

I upgraded to 6.0a but I'm getting the same symptoms.

ASIO driver and Tranzport compatibility were major reasons I decided to upgrade from 4.0. Plus VSTi, but I haven't even installed Kompakt yet. If I can't do the first three I listed above, I don't see a reason to go further.

Please help. I've searched the knowledge base for my playback problem but I didn't see anything applicable to my situation.

Sounds like a job for Sony support, not this forum.

I can't help you with your Digi001 ASIO problem, Sony tech support will probably be a better resource. FWIW, I do have ACID Pro 6a working, at low latencies, with a variety, of ASIO devices:

Desktop: Delta 66 (.51 drivers)
Laptop: TonePort UX2 & Roland UA-100

I have a Frontier TranzPort that I always use with ACID Pro 6a. Do you have the TranzPort MIDI I/O drivers enabled, under ACID's MIDI tab, in Preferences? When you try to add the TranzPort, as a control device, you will always get "device not detected", if you do not have the TranzPort MIDI I/O drivers enabled, in ACID. Finally, make sure the "External Control", under the "Options" menu is checked also. Of course, make sure that the TranzPort is in "Native Mode", as well.

Cheers,

Billy Buck
