When using FX plugins with high latency(f.inst SIR) Acid compensates for the delay just fine.

If you disable the plugin while playing, it seems that Acid still compensates for the latency making the track go out of sync. Even if you enable the plugin again the sync is still broken. The only thing that helps is stopping playback and starting it again.

This is a bit annoying when you want to A/B the effect.

Hi,

Can you give me a short list of some of the plug-ins you are seeing this issue with? Are they DirectX? VST? VST via a DirectX adapter?

Here are some plugins with the problem. They're all VST(and freeware).

SIR(Convolution reverb)
http://www.knufinke.de/sir/index_en.html

Vanilla Compressor
http://www.chunkware.com/?page_id=4

GComp (compressor)
http://www.gvst.co.uk/gcomp.htm

It's most notable with SIR because of it's 8960 samples latency. The compressors just have around one ms latency (for look-ahead).

A very easy way to hear the problem is to:
Create a new project
Add an audio loop and create a looping event
Duplicate the track
Add the effect in question as insert to the duplicated track
Start playback and the sound is fine
Disable the effect.
The playback now has a flanging sound(or echo in SIR's case) until it's restarted.

Yeah, I am seeing this too. Try any realtime Convolution reverb plugin (they all need auto PDC). I am also seeing it with DSP plugins, like the UAD-1 too. These are VST plugins using ACID's own VST wrapper.

of course with the uad plugs the simple workaround is to just hit the off button within the plug itself as opposed to deselecting the plug in the effect chain.

Yes, but I don't remember this ever being a problem in the initial ACID Pro 6 release or in ACID Pro 5. I could easily disable/re-enable my UAD-1 plugins, by track/bus or with the Global disable/enable FX (I even have a custimized single keyboard shortcut) and the PDC would remain intact. ACID Pro 6a is not behaving in the same way. Plugins that need auto PDC get out sync and stay out of sync, until you stop and re-start playback.

Cheers,

I am able to reproduce this issue with non-inplace VST plug-ins and have added it to our bug database.

Thanks guys!
