Subject:6a Novation external control

I reported prior to the 6a update that surface control via Novation Remote worked "on and off".

With 6a it doesn't work at all, MMC or CC messages just won't work.

Also under preferences/midi, the Remote driver is locked "reserved for generic control"

I thought external control devices were no longer locked with 6a ?

You are correct. 6.0a should not lock the MIDI device and allow you to use a single MIDI Keyboard controller as both a control surface and MIDI keyboard. I would try a complete uninstall and re-install of 6.0a. I lost the Piano Roll Editor when I updated from 6.0 to 6.0a in place so always try a clean install if things don’t seem right.

Actually this is woking fine, i forgot to enable external control in options menu DoH !

But even after a complete removal and re-installation the Remote port is still displayed as locked !

The input port will still be marked as locked to indicate that something is depending on it outside of the project.

This does not prevent the port from being used for MIDI input recording purposes. Note however that the MIDI msgs that are mapped for use as control will not be recordable.
