Newbie Chromakeying question

Hi I just been messing around with some green screens, and I read what I could understand in the help menu, I was wondering why when I use a green screen or a blue screen and the use the vegas chromakey the backgrounds are very neatly removed but when I put a new background in, my subject matter is transparent, I apologize if this is a lame question but I have exhausted me search in the manuals so I turn to you for help, Thank you

It means your subject also has green or blue in it.

This could happen because your subject is wearing clothing with green or blue in it or that green or blue light is "spilling" on to your subject by reflecting from the background.

You need to have your subject far away from the background to avoid this. Perhaps 5 or 6 feet from the screen.

Use the Check Mask Only box to see exactly what the mask will be. You then need to play with the sliders to tweak it.

That tutorial above is the one that got me started on greenscreening as well. After that, I made my own tutorial (loosely based on the one above), mostly to help myself through the process.

I have a really cute girl in my video too: :)
