Just got email that audiomidi.com has Native Instruments products for 25% off this weekend. Does anyone know if NI's "Kompakt to Kontakt 2 crossgrade for other NI Samplers" is able to be used with the Acid 6 version of Kompakt? That product goes for $185 right now... nice cheap way to get into Kontakt 2, assuming it will work with Acid's Kompakt. Has anyone done this type of crossgrade with NI and know if it will work? |

The version of Kompakt included with Acid is a special edition that was integrated for Acid. It was also included with the price of your Acid upgrade...it's not like you spent any extra dough to get that special version... |

You can crossgrade, from the Sony ACID Pro Edition, of Kompact to Kontact 2 full version. There is a $269 crossgrade offer included inside the ACID Pro 6 box. Better yet, there is currently a $229 crossgrade offer, directly from the NI website. If you are able to crossgrade, using other Kompact Player versions, then you should be able to use ACID's, as well. I would verify with audiomidi, just to be sure though. Or you could get it from B&H Photo (like I did) (www.bhphotovideo.com) and when you find the Kontakt 2 Crossgrade/Upgrade for $249, click on "email me a better price" which they did and it then said: "KONTAKT 2 Upgrade/Crossgrade is 214.95" Free shipping, got it in a couple days. |

I got a reply from Native Instruments: yes, this a possible upgrade option.
