Is it me - or is it.....anways, I just got the samples for the Jesse Saunders contest - some of them are quite large, and are tagged as "Loops" - which, it seems, media manager/AP can't play properly - stuttering, choppy, awful...but when I change them to one-shots, they play just fine. Most of my large samples are one-shots - and I know that AP has that little memory warning about using large samples as loops - but surely AP can handle a large loop every now & then......right? If not - does anyone know if there's a way to overide the default preview settings for explorer/Media manager - so that I can actually preview the bloody samples? t.i.a. vespesian (sean) |

Please fill out your system specs.[Cpu/amount of ram/etc...] Sounds like you need to add more ram to your system. Ed. |

The largest sample in that contest is about 12 MB. Not exactly RAM-busting, but it could add up. Adding just 17 random samples from the contest pushed my RAM to 100 MB usage. 256 MB RAM is required for ACID Pro 6; 512 is recommended, but the more RAM, the merrier. Iacobus |

I have enough ram (512) - and have been able to handle/work with other large(r) projects - but have never used samples as "Loops" as big as 12mb...they're usually "One-shots"...I was just wondering if anyone else had actually experienced this.. |

Actually - I just figured out what the problem is.....when you preview loops with assigned root notes, and the root note of the project-to-be is different, large loops get garbled/choppy/wierd. I just set the project root note to "none" and everything was fine. Good thing I don't really rely on root notes, per se.... |

I found it strange as well, as most percussive loops really shouldn't have a root note assigned to them (since most percussion doesn't have a definite pitch), otherwise you'll get weird artifacts or flamming. Iacobus |
