Does anybody know how to make a song sound like someone just pulled the electric cord out of the wall socket while listening to a vinil record? You know? not a gradual shift in pitch, but a fast and abrupt down pitch shift? Please be specific if possible, I'm a newby.
Thank you

You need to use two plugs and one is only available in Sound Forge. You want to slow the sound down which can be done with Sony Time Shift. Do this in increments make it slower and slower over time. Then you want to apply a pitch bend envelope. This is only available as the Pitch Bend plug in Sound Forge (unless you find a 3rd party plug). The two of these will get you what you want.

As an added note:

You want to do this offline - i.e. destructively. Attempting to do this in place in ACID will result in some problems. ACID dependends on a constant flow of audio over time to maintain sync. A plugin like like the time shift can play havoc with this. Additionally, you will have an event on ACID's time line that runs for say 3 seconds, but the strech will make it last for 6 seconds. There will be no visual queue as to when the actual audio ends.

Hey Matt, thanx for the tip. It does exactly what I need, now, if I can only figure out how to make it happen when I want and not from the start of the clip (song). Any ideas?

Split the clip at the point where you want the effect to start. Add the effect to that last part only.
