In the demo, it pointed me to all these hunky dory dls voice sets- now that I bought the upgrade to 6.0, they seem to be gone? anyone know where they are? |

? I wasn't aware there were any (other than the default set that comes with the Sony DLS soft synth). Iacobus |

It seems like DLS is one of those standards that hardly anyone adopted and is effectively dead. At least I couldn't find any DLS sound sets. You may want to look into getting a soundfont player and using the massive amount of free and for sale soundfounts that are available. The Kompakt player that comes with Acid Pro 6.0 can play soundfonts, but is a little cumbersome to use. The sfz soundfont player from rgc audio (now cakewalk) is free, and fairly well respected, but I find it tends to produce clicks periodically in Acid. Apparently there is a known issue with sfz in multiprocessing hosts that causes this problem. I have not yet figured out if Acid is a multiprocessing host and if so, if there is any way to turn multiprocessing mode off. The Bismark BS-1 soundfont player and Jeskola XS-1 soundfont players both seem to work well from the demos I have tried. Cheers, Randy |

XS-1 looks good. Thanks for the heads up! Do you use it or know how it compares to the free sfz player in terms of CPU usage? |
