Hello all, Can someone please tell me whether the kompakt sampler is available in the try-out? And if so, where to find it. Thanks in advance, RobertG |

Just to be more precise, I downloaded the trial and while looking for the sampler I could not find it. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? Thanks, Robert |

I have not tried the demo, since I have ACID Pro 6 already, but I don't believe the ACID Pro 6 Kompact Edition, is included. It is a bonus you get, after you purchase ACID Pro 6. FWIW, the Kompact ACID Pro 6 version ships, as part of ACID, on a separate DVD, with a couple of gigs of content. It works well with ACID Pro 6 and the sounds are of professional quality. Another plus, is that you can also use ACID Pro Kompact in other VST host's. I have used it in SONAR 5.2 as well as, Project 5 2.01. :) Cheers, Billy Buck |

> I used to use Gigasampler in a far past, is kompakt kind of similar? Yes, from the perspective that they both are sample players and they both allow you to load several MIDI channels worth of sounds. Kompakt allows you to load 8 sample patches into a single instance and assign separate MIDI channels with separate audio buses. It gives you a lot of control over envelopes and filters. You can even import other formats (like .gig). The library it ships with has a ton of useful sounds. Kompakt will also let you create new sample instruments in a limited way. You can only map one octave per wav sample which is OK for most instruments but you can’t “cheat” and assign one wav file to the whole keyboard. :( If you want more control over creating your own samples, then Kontakt (Kompakt’s big brother) is another option but it cost a lot more. I own both and I am very impressed with what Kompakt can do. ~jr Message last edited on5/21/2006 6:13:16 AM byJohnnyRoy. |
