Hi. So, i was recently trying to get acquainted with this program, trying different things with a recording i had done. anyways, after fiddling around with it for a little bit, i closed the program and found that ALL my mp3 songs had been converted into WAV files. Not only that.. everytime i click on one of the songs to listen to, the SoundForge program automatically opens up. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a way to change them all back to MP3s? Will this, as a result, alter the quality of the songs? And where could i go to change the settings so that SoundForge doesn't automatically open? I tried searching through the Help site but didn't find any clear instructions on how to do all this. maybe i didn't search properly??? I appreciate the help!! lost, cindy |

I doubt it actually converted your mp3 library. That wouldn't taken a loooong time, you would have noticed. What probably happened is Sound Forge is now associated with mp3 files on your PC. So when you click on an mp3, Sound Forge plays it. To make it stop being your mp3 player, click on: Options\preferences\"File" tab > associate sound file extensions and deselect mp3. Good luck! |
