Subject:No monitor when recording

Same problem as Flo in Acid 6.0. I can't hear guitar or vocals when recording, though I can see the levels and it records fine. I can hear playback in the headphones, but not what is being recorded. This did not used to happen. I use an M-audio pre usb preamp interface. Same problem with guitar and vocals, recorded separatedly. What's the deal?

I found the setting. Next to the record arm button on the track there is a number that appears indicating the input you have selected. If you click on the number you will get three dropdowns - Montior, stereo and Mono. The monitor defaults to off (sucks) so you have to select on or auto to mnitor.

Is this for ACID 6.0? I have a dropdown, but no numbers like you mention. The regular analog in with neither left nor right specified is the only one that gives a reading. Maybe I am getting dumber?

This is for ACID Pro 6.0 (not ACID Music Studio 6)

> I have a dropdown, but no numbers like you mention.

The number that Flow M is talking about only shows up AFTER you press the Arm For Record button on an Audio track. Before the arm button is pressed there is no number.

Music Studio doesn’t support input monitoring. Buy the full version of ACID Pro if you want this feature. Otherwise you’ll have to monitor from your hardware. You should be able to use the headphone jack in your M-Audio Pre USB to monitor the input.

BTW, Music Studio users should identify the fact that they are using Music Studio and not just say “I have ACID 6” because most people will assume its ACID Pro 6. You will get more accurate answers to your questions if you let us know that you have the Music Studio version.

I do monitor through the pre USB. The solution was to reinstall and try again. It worked...momentarily. I just went back to record, a few days later, and the volume was nil. I don't want to reinstall every time I want to record. I guess its just a bug if I didn't change anything, just reinstalled it. Ya think?

A bug in your M-Audio hardware? How would that be affected by what you have installed on your computer?
Is it Acid or the M-Audio driver you are reinstalling?

Page 25 of the manual shows how to use direct monitoring. Are you doing everything in accordance with it? You don't have latency set too low?
