After reinstalling XP and all my software, I am getting random bursts of noise/beeps when I run Acid 5 or 6. Also, the sample projects won't load the plugins. I have registered Pro 6, but I cannot register some of my older Sonic Foundry stuff as the registration server is down and from what I recall, Madison is closed on the weekends. Perhaps the piracy protection from another program is causing the problem? In any case, if anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate your advice. it almost sounds like you have too many programs going....like they are fghting each other for space. i know i've blown mine's mind a couple of times by simply having to much stuff on there. you don't have some kind of weirs vires or pop-up blocker enabled once you reinstalled do you? |

I just have the totally patched XP sp2, necessary drivers, my Sony and Sonic Foundry stuff, and a few NI programs. Nothing much running at all, though I have yet to gut the proc list. However, the problem seems to have stopped once I ran and cancelled all the activation windows. When I ran ACID 6 again, the beeping was gone. |

I've been able to register some of the old SonicFoundy versions by using the "register from another computer" option. This creates an HTML file that you open in a browser to obtain the activation code. Before browsing this file, open it in notepad.exe and change "sonicfoundry.com" to "sonymediasoftware.com" everywhere it appears and save it. Open it in a browser and it should now connect to the registration server and fetch the activation code for you. |

I found that some spy ware (Web root) can effect the sequencing of certain programs. Shut off start when windows boots and enable when needed. |
