Due to sudden ACID 6 crashing/ weird behavior and a lack of imminent deadline, I have decided to reinstall XP. I have tons of carefully saved presets for effects and file saves for Acid, Vegas, and Sound Forge. In the old days I had to just trash these presets and start over after reinstalling. Is there now a way to export all this data and import it to another machine? Preset Manager seems like the right tool for the job, but I can't find any of my presets in it. What am I missing? |

The Preset Manager will certainly save any plug-in or chain presets you have created. Did you make sure you went through the proper steps to do so? You simply open the Preset Manager, drag your custom plug-in or chain from the "system presets" window to the "preset package" window, then save. You then take the resulting ".sfpreset" file and archive it or transfer it to another system, then use the Preset Manager to open it. Use the "copy to system" button or Edit > Copy to System to copy the plug-in or chain to the system. (You can also drag and drop as well.) EDITED TO ADD: Oh, and look under, "custom rendering templates," under ACID's online help and click the, "copy rendering templates between computers or user accounts," link. It'd take a novel to explain here. ;) Iacobus Message last edited on5/5/2006 2:05:28 PM byIacobus. |
