Subject:Extract Audio from CD, 1x speed?

When I am extracting audio from a CD in Sound Forge 8.0(d). I put the speed to 1x to get no errors. It'll go 1x speed for one track. Then when I try to import other tracks with 1x it goes fast again, probably around 16x or 32x. And I'll get an error in the songs (when I say error I mean a big crackle during the song). What am I doing wrong that it will not listen to me? I even went into my CD Drive's options and set the writing speed to 1x (if that will even help). It's like it has a stuborn mind of its own.

Please help.

Perhaps its because virtually no modern burners are designed to extract and/or burn at 1x. And unless you are using media that is specifcally designed for 1x, you are likely to get errors just because of that. There's currently no logical reason to burn at less than x4 and usually the best results with current burners and media are 8x and higher. The only burner that will get good results at 1x is a standalone real time recorder.

I regularly extract at max speed, around 48x to 52x on my DVD+-RW drive. I get no noticeable errors at all. Last time i ripped a 65 minute CD it only took about 1.3 minutes.
