Subject:Acid 6 project key doesn't transpose midi?

Is this possible? Am I doing something wrong? It would seem to a be no-brainer and dead simple to do. If not, when a key change transposes the audio you have to go and individually transpose each midi clip? I must be missing something.

I ran into that problem also. AFAIK it does not. The only way I could find is to do a pitch shift in the Event Properties panel.

I would hate Acid to transpose my midi too - I compose the midi knowing where key or chord changes are, and the notes I play already take that into account.

On the other hand, if you want to deliberately transpose a midi passage to another key, that's simple to do, but I would never want it to happen automatically.

I don't think you're getting what I mean. Acid has the ability to change pitch of the entire project to a new key. If you were doing that, why would want the midi tracks to stay in the old key (unless they were drum parts, which should be difineable as non-transposable)? Wouldn't make much sense sonically, I wouldn't think... unless you were doing a Charles Ives thing...

Ah - you're talking about changing the whole project once it's created - I was talking about key changes along the timeline, where I might use "K" to change the key of an audio loop, but the midi would not not need this if the notes when created already take the chord change into account.

You can do it on a track by track basis, or select several tracks at once (right click Track Header / Pitch Shift Track), but I guess it would be good to have a "Global Transpose" function.
