Subject:ACID 5 Projects Crashing AP6

I just tried to load a project I was working on in AP5, and it loads it up and seems like everything is going OK. When I press play, though, it plays for about 1 second, then I get a machine gun stutter, and AP6 crashes. The project still opens perfectly without issue in AP5 though. Sigh... when'd you guys say that update's coming out again? I've been having so many issues that if I want to continue doing any kind of music work, I'm going to have to revert back to just using version 5b. |

Your giving us nothing to trouble with you know that. 1)What does your project consist of?[loops/midi/oneshots/etc...] 2)Track count? 3)Bit rate?[24bit 44.1???] 4)How many busses? By any chance are you using any UAD plugins on tracks??? If so remove the plugins and try playing back the project and let us know how it goes? Ed. |

It consists of loops and oneshots, 20 audio tracks, no MIDI, all files at 16bit/44.1Khz, and two busses. I don't have a UAD1. It's really just your average typical AP5 project, nothing particularly unusal about it at all. Any plugins being used? How are you routing the tracks? What is going to the buss's? Ed. |

I had a similar problem. I found that when opening AP5 files in AP6, it was converting some plugins to mono on stereo tracks. (Mostly Waves plugs) Try turning off all your plugins before playing. Once I figured that out I just had to go through and remove the mono plugs and reinstall them as stereo. Hope this helps. |

Good advice, I just figured out exactly what it's not liking. I had one instance of Antares Filter on one of the tracks. The second I removed just that one plugin from the chain, the project seems to play back fine. |

It does seem like a fair few plug-ins that worked in 5 don't work in 6. |
