Well I finally replaced my Audigy Platinum Pro (with a simple USB audio interface and the driver at usbaudio.com). Anyway, I can finally get a hot enough recorded signal out of my guitar, I can select the input properly over ASIO from Acid, and I can get solid performance down to 2ms latency. My only problem is that every time I start Acid, I get two error messages telling me the Creative driver can't find the card. I've uninstalled all the Creative Labs software, I've deleted all the registry keys with the name "Creative" in them, but I still get these messages. Does anyone know how to get the last bits of Creative Labs code off my computer? |

This error is caused by the Creative ASIO driver not being properly uninstalled. This is a bug with the Creative driver's installation tools. You can remove these warnings manually by: 1. Run Regedit 2. locate the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ASIO 3. There will be entries for Creative listed here. Delete them. Peter |

I had already deleted these entries. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Acid. None of this helps. Any other ideas? |

Also, why does an uninstall and reinstall retrigger my having to authorize the copy protection schemes on so many of my plugins? |

There may be other entried in this key that are in fact referencing the Creative ASIO drivers that are not labeled "Creative". Look at each entry and determine whether it is referenceing something from Creative. Do a search in our knowlege base on Creative ASIO There is an article ?When opening Vegas or ACID I encounter the error "CT ASIO warning. The creative asio devices have changed". Why?" That addresses this issue. Peter |

"so many plugins" Can you be specific? We don't touch any plugins with our install/uninstall, so this is something you should discuss with the plugin vendor. Peter |

I did a system search for "ctasio" and found a "ctasio.dll" file in the windows system32 directory. I deleted it and that seems to fix the problem. |

My DSound Stomp'n FX volumes one and two had to be reauthorized. So did the Garritan Personal Orchestra version of Kompakt. The Edirol Quartet plugin had to be removed before I could reinstall Acid 6 as well. All these plugins and only a handful of them are any good! (no I'm not blaming that on Acid ;-) ) |
