could someone walk me through setting up my bcf2000 controller to acidpro 6? i cannot get it to do anything. i set it to mackie emulation mode, turn it on, and try to set it up in acid, and it does nothing. about the only software i've gotten this piece of garbage to work with is adobe audition 1.5. i am new to external interface control, and would really appreciate a basic breakdown of how to get this thing working. i've downloaded everything in sight on the beheringer page, and scoured the web, but nothing really useful so far. thanks in advance!

I just bought the BCF2000 a week ago as well, hoping to at last be able to control my ACID software with hardware. Didn't work that way, I can't get the BCF to work consistently with ACID hardly at all. I don't think this is a flaw on the BCF's part, I was able to get it to work as advertised in Sonar 5.

i undrstand from a kvr forum that whatevet setup is used to configure thebcf2000 to vegas can also be used to setup for acidpro. however, i've yet to find specific instructions for setting up for vegas as well.....
what did you do to set it up for sonar? i haD problems with that as well- although my primary focus is still to get it to work with my acid 6.

on a second note, i have a evolution mk-2490c2 i use for my midi controller. i can get it to press the vitrual keys in kontact, but no sound. if i use the mouse however, i can get sound. i've tried playing with my midi settings to no avail. BTW i am using the evolution via usb, and a presonus firebox as my main audio out. good grief...

That's actually another problem I had with trying to get the BCF2000 working with acid. It seemed like the MIDI port that the BCF uses locks up the MIDI port for my Echo Gina3G at times. Like, sometimes I can't get my Gina MIDI connections to show up at all in the MIDI options page, but I'm able to get them back upon rebooting my computer as long as I don't start fucking about with the BCF anymore.

As far as getting it to work with Sonar, you have to turn off the BCF, hold down the 4th top button and turn it back on while still holding the button. I think you have to have the most up to date firmware installed to do this.

I was just about to point the original poster to a couple of threads in the Vegas Audio forum where this information is also discussed, but I see that Nick has very nicely summarised it for you in his document.

I would just add that the exact same procedure also applies to setting up the BCF2000 for use in Vegas. And I'll also point you towards a PDF file I made which details the control layout of the BCF2000 when set up as Nick has described. The PDF actually refers to Vegas but almost all of the details will still apply in Acid. It's here.

I just followed all of those suggestions to the letter and have still been having the exact same problem. If you press the wrong button or something, the BCF will lock up, and often times my whole system gets super laggy until i disable the control surface option and turn off the BCF. Fucking weak, dude...

Are you hooked up via USB or MIDI cable?

Honestly, I don't think it's so much a problem with the BCF2000. I'm able to get it working excellently with Sonar 5. It's probably just another AP6 bug on top of the countless other ones that are coming to light. I'm hooking up via USB as well. Really kinda a shame as I actually really like the size, construction, and feel of the BCF for the most part, especially considering I bought it for just over $150 new.

>>> 1. the bcf virtual display i downloaded will only show a small blue strip when i open it.

That is correct. When communication between Acid and the BCF2000 is established this blue strip will show the channel assignments, pan & level adjustments, etc, but until then it will simply be an empty blue strip.

>>> 2. i followed the link as described, but am getting no bcf or external options under the midi tab around step 15.

Hmm, strange - if you are using the USB connection you should be seeing an entry for the BCF2000 if you have installed the 1.1.1.1 USB driver as described in Nick's step 2.

Assuming you haven't simply forgotten to do this step, I can only think of one other explanation. It is possible that you may be falling foul of a limitation in Windows, namely that it has a limit of 10 MIDI "devices". If you have had a number of MIDI interfaces on this PC in the past, (even if they and their drivers have apparently been removed from the system) there is a possibility that the addition of the BCF2000 MIDI USB driver has pushed you over the limit and so it is not showing up. There is a nice document that describes how to resolve this issue on the RME website <a target=_top href="http://www.rme-audio.com/english/faq/10entrye.htm">here. I must emphasize that I do not know if this is the reason why you are not seeing the BCF2000 shown on the MIDI ports list, so I don't know if the RME document will help you solve it, but it is all I can think of that might explain your problem if you have correctly followed Nick's document.

In case anyone else is getting discouraged by your experiences, let me just confirm that I have just now set up my BCF2000 for use in Acid 6 (something I had not got round to - I only had it set up in Vegas) by following Nick's document and it works just fine.

I hope you are able to resolve the problems you are having without too much further delay.

could someone please send along a new link, or the pdf itself for Nic's tutorial on hooking up Acid 6 with the bcf? the link in this thread is bad.

also..would any of you who bought the bcf still have it if the novation controller had been available? and I realize that Sony is still trying to hook one up..any news on that front Peter?
