After having used sf8 for successful recordings I am now getting random pops throughout the recording, maybe 5 in a 5 minute recording. Any ideas why this would happen now? thanks.

AV software, other obtrusive software, power scheme or greedy hardware device added. Somebody recently had a wireless net card causes glitches.

A few years ago or so, an anti-virus program gave me simular problems as I recall. Try shutting down all unnessesary applications.
See what's running , <Ctrl +Alt +Delete>

hey rod, i know its off topic but i asked you a question in my other post bout regions markers a week or so ago, you linked athread about using something in nero, which i read, but i posted another question for you in that topic, regions/markers
