I'm playing back a file I recorded in v5 on v6 and it's doing something strange.... it's stuttering to the point of virtually nothing coming out of the speakers. When I view my CPU usage in Windows Task Manager, the poor thing is at 96%. Is v6 more CPU intensive? This file is a bear, but even v5 could mostly handle it. It's bizarre... the file keeps playing, but *nothing* is audible... the master volume is at zero. I'm using ASIO drivers with an Echo Indigo I/O sound card. Thanks, Rick |

Your system specs? Have you tried increasing your ASIO latency to take pressure off the CPU? Are you using the media manager? |

If you click on my hyperlinked name, you can view my system specs. (except that I have 1 GB of ram now and can't see where to update my specs.) Not sure how to increase latency? Is that a delay? The crappy MS Sound Mapper driver causes my recorded parts to be way behind the rest of the song, and the ASIO doesn't---when it works. Don't want to have a noticeable delay. I turned off Media Manager. But I should check to make sure it's really off! Cheers, Rick |

Try clicking Options > Preferences > Audio Device. Click on the "Advanced" button and then the "Configure" button. You should be able to control ASIO latency from there. Iacobus |

Ok, I can control it from there, but what do I want to do with it? :) Can you suggest settings, or shall I just wing it? What are the tradeoffs involved? Thanks, Rick Message last edited on4/28/2006 7:52:06 AM byspinweb. |

I get the same probem at times and am able to cure it by going to Track Prop folder. Click General tab and if your "track type" is marked as "beatmapped" then untick “Preserve pitch when stretching" . This always cures it for me - but why I have no idea - as at times you need this facility. |

Well, this project has a lot of tracks. I'd hate to have to go in an unselect them all. Might try it if I get desparate. Rick |
