Subject:Acid Pro 6 unwanted track bleed

I have been an Acid 3 user for years and just got version 6 and have a problem. Previously recorded one-shots "bleed" onto any new tracks I record instead of staying discreet on their own track. If I mute the other track(s) then this doesn't occur, but then I can't hear the other tracks and therefore can't hear what I'm doing. In other words, if I can hear it playing, it's getting re-recorded onto the new track and merging with what I'm trying to record. Any ideas? Thanks. |

Check your sound card settings. If you're using a consumer-grade sound card it may be set to record "What U Hear" or "Stereo Output" instead of the Line Input. In this case it would record every sound your computer makes as well as the new material coming in. Change it to Line Input and it will only record the new material. |

Boy, do I feel dumb. You nailed it -- it was the ol' "What U Hear" setting on my SB Audigy 2 ZS (buried deep in the Surround Mixer applet). This is the same thing that bit me four years ago when I first started using Acid Pro 3. The reason it was problem now is because I installed updated drivers from Creative, and it must have reset that. I'm glad I asked... and I'm grateful for your quick reply. Thanks a million! |
