Hi, I just upgraded from Windows Milennium to XP and now have a problem with Acid Pro 3.0 or 6.0 projects. I have speakers in Line 2 out, headphones in Line 1 out, Audio set to "quadraphonic" to allow using both speakers and headphones at the same time. This enabled me to record a new vocal while hearing previous tracks on the headphones and muting the speakers. This worked well with Millennium. When I upgraded to XP, I can play an MP3 outside of Acid and hear on both speakers and headphones, but when I use Acid I can hear tracks on the speakers but not the headphones. I can record and hear the headphones. Can not figure out what the problem is...any suggestions??? Thanks, Margaret |

What's your audio interface (sound card)? Have you tried looking for updated XP drivers for it? When you migrated from Windows Me to XP, did you install XP clean or did you just upgrade (by simply installing XP over Me)? Sometimes things get lost in translation during an upgrade. The best route to usually take is to install clean (but takes more time since your documents have to be backed up). Iacobus |

Hi, I bought the XP home package, the full thing (not the update), had to reformat the hard drive first, then reinstall everything. The sound card is a SoundBlaster Live, about 5 years old. Because I have dial-up (very slow), I had a computer shop do the installs and they said they did get the latest upgrades for the SoundBlaster from the manufacturer. The computer itself is a Gateway but they did not get the drivers from Gateway. Maybe I need a new sound card to work with XP? Thanks, Margaret |
