All literature points to it being possible, but then in the actual Kompakt browser, Gigasampler is not listed as one of the formats. What gives?

I have successfully imported .gig files - it is a real positive for me that Acid Kompakt can do this.

Open the browser and drag .gig file into an empty instrument slot. Click save and Kontakt will convert to .nki

I've succesfully loaded maestro grand piano (961 MB)

Thanks. I tried that; maybe the file was corrupted. I'll try again.

So is mine. And it neither shows up as a format in the browser nor works if I try it anyway. Very curious. Does .gig show up in your format list?

As manual says:

"When importing the formats AKAI, Gigasampler and SoundFont2
it is important to notice that they appear as two folders, one con-
taining the presets/programs and the other containing the sam-
ples"

By the way, are you able to drag and drop SF2 files?

You asked how:

I find the file in the browser, then drag and drop into an empty multi slot.

I didn't have to do anything to make them appear in the browser (except navigate to the folder). However, you may need to select "unknown" file format to get them to appear.

My gigs are all GS2 files, which may explain it.

thanks, I got a file to load. It wasn't recognized as a file type by the browser, but at least it loaded. I haven't figured out the variables yet. But a little success is good.
