Subject:CD burning problem - bug?

Acid Pro 6 won't let me burn CDs. It gives me an error of "media is not compatible with project".

Meanwhile Acid5 and Vegas5 both work just fine. Anyone else seeing this?

Any known solutions?

OK. It seems to work just fine on my laptop, so this is something specific to my desktop computer and/or the actual project file. I'll try some things like reinstall and see what happens.

Anyone else see this error?

Well, it looks like this problem is not going away.
I tried reinstalling and it is not project specific.

The CDR drive is recognized and everything, but when I go to burn a disc, I get the error:

"Media in the tray is incompatible with current project.
Insert CD-compatible media to continue..."

I've checked the CDR media and it works perfect with Acid5 and Vegas5. The problem appears specific to Acid Pro6 on my desktop computer.

I love replying to my own thread:-)

I have checked all of the latest drivers from microsoft and from LiteOn. I did a flash to the CD burner firmware. The problem still persists.

Every other program I have that can read my CD drive tells me that a good blank CDR is in the drive. With some of my software it actually reads the media manufacturer name and type. I have successfully burned track at once CDs with 8 other software programs, including Vegas5, Acid5 and trial of Soundforge8. The only program that has a problem is Acid Pro6.

Acid Pro6 does see the disc and tells me "time available on disc". But when I go to burn the CD, I get the aforementioned "incompatible media" error.

I realize I may be the only one with this issue. But, maybe I'm the only one with this Lite-On drive. Is it possible that this is a bug? Or has my CD burner suddenly become obsolete.

Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.

(I also really appreciate the changes in Acid6. I was sold in 5 minutes.)

UPDATE: I had the opportunity to try another brand CDR this weekend, and they work. So, it seems the combination of the Taiyo Yuden and Acid Pro6 and the LiteOn CD burner that cause the problem.

The Taiyo Yuden work with my laptop (TEAC burner) and Acid Pro6.
The Taiyo Yuden work with my desktop (LiteOn) and Acid Pro5 and Vegas5.

The other CDRs that I tried were Phillips branded. I am guessing it is the way these Taiyo Yuden CDRs are being reported by the LiteOn burner. Since Acid Pro5 and Vegas5 and SF8 all work fine with the LiteOn and Taiyo Yuden, something changed in Acid6 which causes the error. I would love to see this work if possible, but I realize I may be the only one on the planet with this situation.

Hopefully this will help you to better understand the problem. Let me know if you need any more info from me.
