Subject:Monitor Input Audio During Recording?

I've just added Sound Forge Studio 8 to my Acid Pro 6 environment and I have discovered the Audio Restoration settings. Next step - out come many crates of old Vinyl and my Sony / Empire 2000 turntable. The TT is plugged into a Griffin iMic USB interface (it has a preamp mode for TT's). My output is through an E-Mu 0404. The Windows XP mapper is set up correctly and I can successfully record the audio from my albums and listen to the audio after I stop recording. However, I'd really like to listen as I'm recording (both for pleasure and for the occassional jump - many are from the pre-70's).

I've read the online help for monitoring recording and I've made sure that the I/O are set correctly in the Windows Mapper, In the online help, I found this:

Enabling input monitoring

Select the Enable audio input monitoring check box if you want to route the audio received by the input device to the current output device.

However, there isn't a check box labeled "Enable audio input monitoring".

How can I monitor the recording process?

Tim

in the recording dialouge box that comes up when you click the record button is a check box that says "monitor".

That's what I did - I check "Monitor" and according to the online help I should also now be able to check a box marked "Enable audio input monitoring" - only there isn't a box marked that way.

Anyone? Is it possible that this is a limited feature in Sound Forge Studio?

Correct. This feature is not available in Sound Forge Studio. There's an icon missing from the help file. Sorry for the confusion.
