Subject:Unable to install Acid Pro 6

I'm new here, and looking for advise.
When I start the Acid install, it prompts me that the Acid Pro requires Microsoft .Net Framework version 1.1 Service pack 1 then asks if I would like to install this component now? I answer yes, and get "the instructions at 0x00148be0 referenced memory at 0x00148be0 the memory could not be written".
At that point, I'm dead in the water, as far as the installation goes.
I have run the memtest, and all seems to check out, there were no errors found.
I've come to the end of my best efforts to resolve this, i updated all my drivers, and virus definations, till I'm blue, and it still happens.
Anyone have knowledge of how to resolve this?
Regards,
Stephen

Sounds frustrating. Have you done all your Microsoft Windows updates? All current services packs installed? Thats all I can think of for now.

I would first go to Microsoft's Windows update site and make sure I have installed the .NET framework and any other updates from there. If you get the error still, you will know it is something to do with your setup, nothing to do with Acid.

If that all checks out Ok, did you download the Acid installation file, or are you installing from a DVD? If you downloaded, I would do it again, just in case you didn't get a complete download. That problem has been recorded by at least one user on this forum.

Thanks for the replies.
I've tried to download the .Net, Framework and SP1 from microsofts site, and all seemed well, til I tried the Acid install again, and the "instructions at blah blah" appeared again.
Now I'm getting these regularly, when I'm on the internet.
Something happened when I tried to first install the .Net Framework etc. and I can't seem to get a hold of the culprit.
I was sure others would have had this experience, but It semms it's just me.
AAARRRGGG!
I appreciate the repiles.

Stephen

I wouldn't completely rule out a memory or other hardware problem. I had a system config a while ago that periodically crashed with apparent memory problems. All the memory testing utilities I tried always said everything was okay. Eventually I lowered my clock speed and the problem seemed to go away. I was running the clock within the limits of the processor, memory and motherboard specs, but I suppose it was testing the limits.

Cheers,

Randy

It narrowed down to a version of .Net Framework, that resides on my PC, that needs to be removed, so the version Acid needs can be installed.
The problem there, is that in ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS, it shows up, but doesn't give me the option to remove it.
I'm told it can be done in the registry, but that's beyond my computer skills.

Fixed!
System restore did the job, and now Acid Pro 6 is up and running!
My friendly Sony Media tech support rep walked me through a little different install, and I'm a happy camper!
