MIDI clips & Time signature Posted by: Djipy Date:4/20/2006 3:20:05 AM Check this: - Open a blank project : the default time signature is 4/4 - Insert a MIDI track - Draw a clip and select "Clip properties" - The beats are 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 2.1, etc... : OK - Now, change the time signature to 3/4 - The beats are not changed in the clip properties; it should be now 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, etc... ! - Insert a second MIDI file (with time signature 3/4) and do the same : the beat numbers are correct in the clip properties. - Save and reload the project : the beats are not updated either in the first MIDI clip. The beats in the clip properties should always reflect the actual time signature (number of beats per measure), even if the clip was created before the time signature change. A clip owns the meter it was created in or based upon the import of an existing file. If you change the project meter, then you must change the meter of the clip. Peter

However, in Acid Pro 6, each MIDI clip can have its own time signature. It can be changed from the Clip Pool, in Track Properties (right click on a clip -> Time Signature).

Check this:

Not how it works.

A clip owns the meter it was created in or based upon the import of an existing file. If you change the project meter, then you must change the meter of the clip.

In previous versions of Acid, the time signature of the MIDI track was automatically updated with that of the project.

However, in Acid Pro 6, each MIDI clip can have its own time signature. It can be changed from the Clip Pool, in Track Properties (right click on a clip -> Time Signature).
