There doesn't seem to be a way to record automation in ACID Pro 6 while using the Mackie Control Universal. In other words, I want to record fade outs using the MCU as the input device for manipulating the master volume level, but ACID doesn't recognize the input when automating volume. I haven't tried this on individual tracks, but just browsing the program, it appears that is won't be possible there either. Will this be possible, or am I missing something somewhere? |

You have to put your MCU in automation mode. - Nick |

There are two modes on the MCU and in ACID. The default mode is Trim. To record automation you press the "Automation On" button on the MCU. Note that the LED will light up. When in this mode, the MCU will send faders to the tracks/buses that will be recorded as envelopes according to the automation mode of the track or bus. A track or bus can be ignore, read, latch write or touch write incomming fader/pan moves. To record automation using ACID's GUI, you have to put the track or bus in to automation mode. Peter |

Excellent. Thanks for the tips. I'll try them out when I get home. I know it was mentioned that there is an overlay on the way for ACID Pro, but is there a layout sheet somewhere that tells me what buttons on the MCU do what functions? Is there a graphic for the overlay somewhere that I can print out? Thanks again. |

Try this: http://download.sonypictures.com/current/extras/mackiecontroloverlay.pdf You can also get to the link from the ACID Pro 6 online help. Check the "Using a Mackie Control" section. You will also find the above link there also. Cheers, Billy Buck |
