I have a collection of MIDI (Drum) Clips. When I drag them on to the track window they always create a new track. Is there any way I can get them into the clip pool for the same track other than adding the clips 1 by 1? Thanks in advance Paul |

Yes, like you do for audio clips, you can simply drag & drop the clips onto the tracks clip pool icon, (it should say "MIDI Clip 1" initially until you start adding clips), from the Loop Exploror or Media Manager. You may have to expand the track header to see it. Then simply click on the icon, and pick the "active" clip. This is the clip that will get painted when using the Draw or Paint Tools. Works the same way , for both audio & midi. You can also drag and drop to the Track Properties "Clip Pool" tab window. When playing back your project, select the clip(highlight), on the track and you can press the "C" keyboard shortcut key to cycle through the clips, that you added to the current pool, in realtime. Conversely, "Shift+C" cycles through in reverse order. From the Track Properties Clip Pool tab, you can do additional tasks, like Deleting, Adding, Saving, Copying, Audtioning etc., as well. I love the clip pool concept in ACID Pro 6, when working with multiple clips, on a track! Cheers, Billy Buck Message last edited on4/17/2006 4:34:44 PM bybillybk. |

Billy Buck Many thanks. I can get the second technique (Drag to Track Properties clip pool window) but not the first. When I drag to the clip pool icon a new track is created, placed in a new folder !! I have probably misunderstood what you have said though. Is the Icon you refer to the Paint Clip Selector? Many Thanks Paul |

Thanks Billy Buck. I've got the technique working for Audio but not for MIDI. I have just noticed that every time I drag a MIDI clip on to the track window, the MIDI clip is placed into a new track in a new folder. Is there a setting I need to change ? Thanks Paul |

paulie, make sure you hover over the "Paint Clip Selector" button before you let go of the mouse button. (A black-lined box should appear around the button.) Otherwise, ACID will assume you want to add the MIDI as another track in the project. (Don't know what's causing the MIDI track to appear in a folder when added. That's supposed to happen when you right-click a MIDI file and use one of the "Add to Project with Events" options, which is handy for MIDI files with multiple tracks.) Iacobus |

Iacobus - Problem Solved now working perfectly. I didnt realise they were multiple track MIDI files. Iacobus and Billy Buck thanks for your support. All sorted now. Paul |
