Just got my update today, and I want to put it on my laptop and my home computer. Can I do this? Or is it only good for one computer.... thanks all...

SF/Sony has an enlightened attitude on this. I don't know what the upper limit is, but they will certainly let you use it on two for your own personal use (I have it on both of my PCs).

The only rule is that you can't use Acid Pro 5 at the same time on more than one PC.

You generally can install on more than one computer if it is for your own personal use and you are only using one computer at a time. Typically, as in my case, a desktop DAW and portable laptop would be the acceptable practice. Obviously, if you are sharing your laptop and DAW simultaneously with other users then you are in clear violation of the ACID EULA and would need an additional license. So the key words are "personal use" and only "one computer at a time". This is really geared towards users that own a desktop DAW and also have need of a portable laptop. Cakewalk allows for the same enlightened approach to it's software as well. One of the reasons I like supporting and using Cakewalk & Sony software. I have SONAR 4, Kinetic, ACID Pro 5, Sound Forge 7, Vegas 5 & DVD Architect 2, installed and setup identically, on both, my desktop and laptop.

Thank you all, laptop and desktop are both mine and both what I plan to use acid on. I am happy to pay for upgrades on software if means I can use it on my computers. If somebody else wants it, well, they must buy their own!.... I am off to registar...

I'm sorry to revive such an old thread but I'm not at my main comuter where I have AP6 installed and I was wondering if the EULA still permits installation on 2 computers for 1 user/personal use.

I have searched the Sony Web site for a copy of the EULA but couldn't find it.

Thanks!

I've been running AP5 on two computers since I've had it. One in the studio, and one in my office. I registered both via the web when I installed them and haven't received any nastygrams from Sony.

I've only installed AP6 on my office computer so far, but will be installing on my studio computer soon. I don't recall seeing anything specific about this in the EULA, but I could have missed it. If it's violating the EULA, I'll unistall it from one of the systems but I've been doing this dual-system install since AP3 (and registering both at the time of install) and so far no one's kicked in my door for software piracy.

I've always had all Sound Forge/Sony apps installed on 2 computers dating back to Vegas 1. Never any problems with registration.

I have AP6 happily running on both computers.
