Hey it's official, Frontier Designs has added ACID Pro 6 to it's list of supported DAW apps. There is even a page dedicated to ACID Pro 6 with screenshots and PDF support documents: http://www.frontierdesign.com/Products/TranzPort/Apps/Acid-Pro Fans of Sony’s ACID Pro software now have something new to cheer about. TranzPort, the world’s first wireless DAW controller is now supported by ACID Pro 6. The portability of TranzPort and the power of ACID make a perfect fit. Together they make an unbeatable combination for budding home studios and professional musicians alike. If you do not know what the TranzPort is, it is a popular and relatively ($199) inexpensive wireless bi-directional controller that any serious DAW user should have. I have one and absolutely love it! Built-in TranzPort support, in ACID Pro 6, is one of my favorite new features. It certainly takes ACID to a whole new level of control. Why should other DAW's like SONAR, Nuendo, Pro Tools & Logic have all the fun! :-) One particular ACID Pro 6 feature I like is the "on the fly record" and the TranzPort makes it easy. I can be in another room with a mic or guitar and simply press the TranzPort "record" button and ACID will automatically: 1) Add a new audio Track 2) Arm the audio track 3) Put the ACID transport in "record" mode Without ever stopping playback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice! Cheers, Billy Buck Message last edited on4/17/2006 5:44:12 PM bybillybk. |

Sound Forge does not support external control devices. (Though you can set up Forge to trigger with MIDI, it is not the same as Vegas' or ACID's control surface support.) For those experimental types: The Tranzport device driver also works with Vegas 6. Just copy tranzport.dll from your ACID's \External Control Drivers directory into Vegas' \External Control Drivers directory. Start Vegas, and you will see the Tranzport. Note: The Tranzport only controls audio , so you will not be able to control any video specific functionality of Vegas. Note 2: This is "unoffical" support of Vegas. A future version of Vegas will have "official" support for the Tranzport. Peter |

Hey speaking of transport control, is anyone using the Yamaha 01/X, which supports the Mackie Control protocal with AP 6? If so, what are your experiences. With all the new features in ACID 6, i'm hoping my 01/X will serve as the perfect front end for all my recording duties. Still waiting for my shipment to arrive! are these things any good yes or no? Yes! It had my vote for most innovative DAW device of 2005! An easy to use wireless device for controlling your DAW. This is something I have wanted for years and now it works, with my favorite host apps. I no longer need to be tied to a computer keyboard or even be in the same room, in order to record my music.
