Subject:crowd noise

I recorded a vocalist in a church duing a service. Is there any way to lessen the crowd noise. It was recorded in the balcony of the church. Lots of low level noise of people talking below. thanks.

Record at a church without a rude congregation ? ;-)

Noise gating - play with attack and release times as well as threshold.
