Hi I'd like to take a finished song, drop it into an Acid track and then add other instrumentation on other tracks. The song slowly changes tempo over time (so Beatmapper doesn't work) - and I don't want to change that. Is there any way to tell Acid where each bar starts and ends so that it can change the project tempo to match? That way, the loops would follow the original song's changing tempo. |

Yes. Acid can do this. Google or search in this forum for "Adjust Tempo to Match Marker to Cursor". There is currently a small bug though in Acid Pro 6.0 where quick fade-in/fade-outs are added to your one-shot event at each tempo marker you add. Cheers, Randy |

It seems rather cumbersome to do it for each bar. Would be nice to be able to select a section of a project and tell ACID how to handle tempo change, such as a starting bpm and ending bpm. |

You don't have to do it for each bar. You can start working from the beginning of the song and only put the tempo markers where you really need them. Cheers, Randy |

So using this feature, can I start a project off at---say---130 bpm, then halfway through the project, slow down to 126 bpm? What if I want to speed things back up again after a few minutes? I guess what I am picturing is a DJ mix using ACID (for production on disc) where the tempo of the songs ranges anywhere from 126 bpm to 132 bpm, changing throughout the mix. |

Acid doesn't have the flexible tempo mapping that (say) Cubase SX has. I think this is a weakness, and hopefully Sony will address it with Acid 7. Meanwhile, I would use Cubase for this kind of job. |
