for some reason my bus effects aren't working. I've got 2 Buses, A & B. Each bus is routed to the Master Out. Each Bus has it's own effects. When I render to wav, none of the Bus effects are present. Why? |

never thought i'd be the first to reply to one of my posts. anyway. Here's the scoop. i messed around with it for about 2 hours. screwing with the automation buttons, read, touch, latch etc. Then i messed with the multipurpose slider, pre post all that crap. finally i said screw all this. i disengaged the automation button and put it back to the default of touch. put the multi purpose slider back to it's defaults with the volume at -inf. for both buses A & B. so now i'm back to square one. I re-render a part of the project. Bus A is now working perfectly, but Bus B isn't still. I'm thinking, "this could possible be a bug, AP6 not properly reading AP5's bus routing and such" So i saved my effects chains and presets for both buses. deleted both of them. then reinserted an A bus and a B Bus. added the appropriate effects. Re-routed my tracks through the appropriate Buses. Re-rendered. PRESTO!!!! I FRIGGEN WORKED!!! do not ask me, i don't know. my only guess is that it's a bug. seeing how most of my projects are going to be in AP6 i shouldn' t run into this problem. but for the ppl switching over, be aware. |

Your problem is not clear on how to execute. What plugins are you using and version #. What steps did you take to get a repro. ie:Open acid>>add audio trk>>add audio file>>add plugin>>render??? Are you opening a AP 5 project and rendering it in 6? You talk about messing with all these trk routing and automation settings. Why were you doing this? What effect were you trying to achieve? etc... Glad it works now. Ed. |

ok, um where to start. this is an AP5 project being opened in AP6. well, the plugin that i was using was LoFi . this plugin reduces the bit resolution, kind of an AM radio sound. the way the tracks were set up was i dragged and dropped the audio clips to there own tracks. i then set up two buses, A & B. Each bus containing the LoFi plugin effect that was desired. I then routed each audio track to the desired bus. The buses were routed to the Master. When i played the project everything sounded exactly the way i wanted it. When i rendered the project to .waz 24 bit, not of the bus effects were taking place. it was almost as if the buses were being bypassed completely. so in my attemps to just get something to work, i started messing with all the automations, multipurpose sliders... anything. i was desperate. then i said screw it. saved my effects presets. deleted the buses. re-inserted new ones. the original buses were from the AP5 project. once the new ones were in, i added the effects. rerouted the audio tracks to the desired bus. played the project, everything sounded great. i then rendered to .wav 24 bit, and it turned out perfect. so my only conclusion is that AP6 did not like the AP5 audio buses and their routing. |

WHAT THE HELL!!!! ok it worked fine last night. i thought i fixed the problem. apparently not!!! the same exact issue. seems as if all buses and effects are being bypassed during the rendering process. the project plays fine. just can't render down. everything gets bypassed. |

well i think i might have solved the problem. i also had a demo of AP5 on my machine. i uninstalled that. the shutdown and restarted. opened up AP6. it asked me what file types i wanted to associate with AP6. then voila!! everything works as it should. i shut down again and restarted, reopened and it worked!!!. so SONY you may want to correct a bug with having both AP5 and AP6 on the same machine. seems to be a No-no. |
