Hi. So, i was recently trying to get acquainted with this program, trying different things with a recording i had done. anyways, after fiddling around with it for a little bit, i closed the program and found that ALL my mp3 songs had been converted into WAV files. Not only that.. everytime i click on one of the songs to listen to, the SoundForge program automatically opens up. Can anyone help me with this? Is there a way to change them all back to MP3s? Will this, as a result, alter the quality of the songs? And where could i go to change the settings so that SoundForge doesn't automatically open? I tried searching through the Help site but didn't find any clear instructions on how to do all this. maybe i didn't search properly??? I appreciate the help!! lost, cindy |

I don't think Sound Forge would automatically change the format. How about this for a guess?: in SF, you saved a file. The default format was set to .WAV. If so, the MP3 is still on the drive somewhere. > i closed the program and found that ALL my mp3 songs had been > converted into WAV files. This is a Windows issue. Open Windows Explorer. Tools|Folder Options...|File Types. Then scroll down to where you see the WAV extension. Select that, and look at Opens with: Click Change... and find the program you want to play WAV files by default. Good luck wid it. |
