Subject:Kompakt installation problem

Just got the two DVDs in the mail today - well worth the extra $20. The loop content CD has some good songs to showcase Acid, and Kompakt is a nice freebie. It even loads and saves my Gigastudio instruments - I might stop using Giga now!

I had an initial problem installing Kompakt on my music PC. It went fine on my office PC, which is a new Dell, but my music PC is a little older, particularly the DVD drive. I got an error message - something like "I/O error. The installation file is corrupt, due to bad media". The media is Ok - I had just installed it to the Office PC. I checjed out the NI site - someone in the forum had a similar problem with a DFH update, and NI had posted a fixed version for him. There was nothing for Kompakt though.

I solved it this way: I used my Office PC to copy the installation files and burn them onto a CD. I was able to install the software Ok from the CD on my music PC. Then I just copied the library across separately.

Just thought I would post this in case anyone else is racking their brains over this issue.
