Does anyone know what "several popular and legacy formats" kompakt can load?

According to the literature, the only thing ACID's version won't load are NKS files created with the full versions of Kompakt or Kontakt. Any other 3rd-party library (as well as the monthly Sony installments) should load fine.

I've found it unwilling to load some Kontakt kits I've gotten from Computer Music/Future Music over the years...all of them actually.

Individual hits load but none of the kits load, says this format isn't supported or something like that.



That said, it is a freakin' great piece of software for a freebie....thanks Sony!

Will this version of Kompakt open up .NKI files? I have a few East/West Romplers and I was wondering if I can open these in the Sony/Kompakt. If anybody with the AP6 upgrade has any knowledge of this I would greatly appreciate any tips.

It will not open them up because they were created with a full version of Kontakt.

I'd also like to know if ACP 6 will load the actual retail version of Kompakt with all 200 plus instruments if i choose not to load the Kompakt disk that came with ACID 6 software?

Well of course. It's a VSTi. Acid supports this instrument type.
