I was wondering why when I arm a midi track to record, what happens instead is I see track location moving along, hear no sound, and I see it actually erasing the midi notes on the track.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

you need to insert a new midi track, arm that one and un-check the first one and hit record.. OR.... make sure MIDI merge record is selected (this will add to the midi file)
hope that answers your question..

By default, ACID record destructively into an existing MIDI clip. You wont hear what is currently on the armed track and as the position cursor moves, the notes are erased.

If you want to add to existing data enable Merge Record, which is located on the transport bar. Note this is a toggle and can be changed at anytime during MIDI recording. It also affect step record and how CC envelopes are recorded.
