I have downloaded the AP6 trial for evaluation with a view to upgrading from AP4 but I'm experiencing some serious problems.

The first of these is that when I installed the prog it informed me that 2 net framework service pack updates where required from Microsoft. I hit the link provided by the installer and attempted to download the updates only to be informed by Microsoft that there was a known compatibility issue with the updates and my platform (XpPro x64bit edition). The solution they provided just didn't work.

Inspite of this I installed the updates anyway (this might have been stupid of me but I really need AP6 to work) and completed the istallation of AP.

Upon launching AP6 Media Manager would not initialise so I simply shut it down thinking that it was just an archiving tool and not integral to the program so I could live without it.

Since then I've had problems with the sound. Everything's fine when I'm just using loops and one shots but when I use a third party plugin or rewire (Reason) the sound, even at a relatively low volume, is terrible.

If anyone has got any ideas as to why any of this should be happening I would dearly love to hear from them.

regards

PD

Please fill out your system specs.

We don't officially support XP64, so this could be the source of any issues you are having.

Hey AKA,
I've seen other people in several other forums discuss their audio problems with XP64. My question now, as it's been elsewhere, is
"why would anyone ever put XP64 on an audio system that they ever hope to get to work properly when it's already hard enough to get complicated audio systems working well with regular XP!?"

It just seems like a recipe for pain given how few audio software programs and drivers support this version of the OS.

Maybe you could shed some light on why you found the need to go to the 64 bit OS.
