I'd like to use my midi FX in ACID 6. Will v6 eventually support MFX? It seems a shame if this isn't implimented because there are a lot of interesting MFX out there.

What do you mean by "midi effects"? What is that?

Is there a reason why because they're very useful and I have a lot of them.;)

If not will Sony be releasing some of their own or encouraging any 3rd party midi effects?

It was not part of the feature set for ACID 6. Nothing more to say on this.

No. We don't have an equivalent MFX model to permit third party developement.

What about OPT Peter?

I think you guys are asking slightly the wrong question.

If you ask “will version 6 ever support this” the answer will virtually always be “No”.

Whereas if you ask “will some future version of ACID support this” you will get a much more expansive “maybe, maybe not”

Good point Weevil.

Just to clarify my short and cryptic question about OPT. I was just wondering, since Acid already supports OPT, could it be used to add the kind of functionality MFX brings to Sonar?

Unfortunately, the few devs who do make MFX plugs don't also support OPT. There don't seem to be many OPT plugins. :(

No.

To settle this and leave absoutely no questions:

We don't expose any mechanism to allow any kind or type of MIDI filters or processes to be used in ACID 6 and none will be added to ACID 6.

I cannot predict or comment on what will happen beyond ACID 6.
