Subject:Acid 6 install SQL server problem

Just installed demo Acid 6 while waiting for my Cd-rom to arrive.

When opening get the following messege:

"Your SQL Server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with (could not open SQLEVN70.RLL) Please uninstall and then re-run setup to correct this problem"
Must click OK to continue....Ran a search of computer and can't find this file...

Next I get:
"The MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service does not exist or the current account does not have enough privelege to manage it"
Must click OK to continue...I am sole administrator/user with all priveleges to control programs, etc.

I have had the second messege before when installing Vegas 6d and gave up and uninstalled and unchecked my media manager.
I don't know how to fix these issues.
I tried un and re-install of Acid 6 ... no change
I uninstalled and deleted the Media Mgr program, and file folder

Too bad can't get this to work right on first try. Any tricks/suggestions to remedy would be great. Would like to get this working for my V6 as well but the media mgr has been totally unworkable to date.

It sure sounds like you have a corrupt installation. I believe the problem is that the Media Manager is a shared component and a re-install doesn’t always re-install shared components if they are already present. I did a search on my PC and the file in question was found at:C:\Program Files\Sony\Shared Plug-Ins\Media Manager\MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR\Binn\Resources\1033It had the following properties:12/17/2002 06:22 PM 28,672 sqlevn70.rllDoes that file exist on your PC? What I would do is uninstall ACID. Then in Windows go to

Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs

And uninstall “Sony Media Manager 2.1” AND “Microsoft SQK Server Desktop Engine (SONY_MEDIAMGR)” IN THAT ORDER! and then REBOOT. Finally re-install ACID Pro 6.0.

If that doesn’t work, I would contact Sony Tech Support to have them help you sort it out.

Thanks so much for the "recipe". I'll give that a try next.

Today I had to face a big mudslide threatening to take my house here in "sunny California" .....
Whoever is praying for rain,,,, Knock it off already !!!
