This is for anyone who knows. I've been going to my local Guitar Center and i'm not sure if their employees are lazy and giving me the run around. I want to purchase Acid Pro 6 from there, but the bozo there keeps saying that there distributor told them mid to late April. what the hell. anyone know if this is true. BTW Guitar Center owns Musicians Friend and they have it. i have store credit at Guitar Center which is why i'm purchasing from them.

I got a postcard from GC stating that "my copy" of Acid Pro 6.0 would be waiting for me on April 3 at my local store.

I called them and they did not even know 6.0 was being released nor did they show any stock coming in.

Guitar Center is teh suck. I don't like being physically searched as I leave a store, especially one I've just purchased something from.

Illogical, you were FRISKED at a GC?

The worst thing about mine is they have a paltry selection of basses. (What else is new?)

Well, they make you check your bag in as soon as you walk in the store. And then when you're leaving, if you've bought anything they demand to see your receipt and check everything you have in your shopping bag. I was not patted-down a la airport security (sorry if my language was a bit mushy there), but I think it's wrong to search people indiscriminitely. I did not sign away my civil rights when I walked in the store, so why do they get to presume guilt and search my belongings before I leave?

To keep costs low for honest customers!

pff, If you're concerned about shoplifting affecting your bottom-line, install cameras, anti-theft sensors on merchandise and/or tell your (lazy-ass) floor staff to pay attention. Otherwise I'll keep ordering online and just use their store to try stuff before I order it.

It's hard to find good help anywhere these days.

I once was asked to have my shopping bag searched, with no prior notice.

I said, "You can search my bag, but if you don't find any stolen merchandise, I get to take something free, my choice. Otherwise, you don't have my permission, call a cop."

The law is clear. They have to tell you before you shop you'll be searched, or it's optional to comply.

I like the idea of using them to try stuff out. Serves them right.

Oh and order from American Musical and not Musician's Foe! MF is just GC!
