Subject:Install hangs w-Screenblast Acid 4.0b update

I just got the update for Screenblast Acid 4 to upgrade it to 4.0b
When I tried to install it, it went merrily on it's way until the install screen noted:
"Please wait while the Installation Wizard installs Screenblast Acid 4.0b. This may take several minutes."
I finally stopped this process after 30min. I then uninstalled the two Screenblast versions in add/remove. Installed v4 from the CD -- no problems. Tried update again -- same issue as before. Has anyone else seen this?

BTW, I'm running WinXP, SP2 w-all current patches. Have SoundForge 8.0, Vegas Movie Studio 6+DVD Architect Studio 3 installed.

Additional info:

Canceling install doesn't work.
Some light disk activity.
Checked performance with task manager: 100% utilization, 99% of which is being used by msiexec.exe!!!
Also, should have other system info attached this time (sorry I didn't get this in earlier!)
