I'm answering this in a separate thread because I want to keep the listing as clean and readable as possible. it;s a pain to drill through a ton of posts looking for the info you actually want and I want the acid team to have as easy a time with it as possible.

Vapor? It's really an interesting idea. A rompler soundset (it's still kontakt/kompakt based sampling) that leverages all the best elements of the filters and effects and some really interesting uses of layering and time delay evolving textures to make some very usuable synths that I don't think can be reproduced by any single synth/vsti/sampler alone.

The sounds are warm, cold, analogue/digital - the sound design is probably what you would consider grammy worthy if you were judging on attention to detail and accessibility/versatility.

Think of it this way, if you could take the ambience of twisted reality, the purity of the dx-1 (yes that big honking thing, not the dx-7) the waveshaping of the t-1/wavestation and strap it onto an OB-8 with just a litte bit of modulation from a polymoog..That's what you'd have

and that is only the presets..the possibility to really dig in is still untouched and it's open ended, stack, unstack, mix match strip down. It's not an expensive soundset and it's really worth the price of a good rack mount for what it offers. I'll say this much, I've been a sampletank user for a while - kontakt became attractive when I decommissioned the fairlight out of production use. I didn;t really see much gee whiz factor in kontakt until this came along. and it's influenced the way I look at any kontakt sound set and brought alot of new ideas to the table.

Hope this helps, anything else you'd like to know about it - I'll answer what I can

Thanks a lot! I suspected it was a good use of my money. Now I just have to find the best price.
