I'm thinking about getting it but wanted to hear from anybody that already has it. What do you think of it so far? Thanks

If you compare to pro 5 it's worth every penny and more... first step to becomin' a real pro saw.

I think you are going to love this one... especially if your a midi geek.
A6 has a lot of great features added to it.
In short, you get to play with features that no other app has. When it comes to midi, Acid 6 has surpassed all apps on the market, yes including ProTools.
Composing in Acid 6, allows me the ability to create music within minutes and I do mean minutes. Its a blast for me to have this app.
Good Job Sony!!!

Why don’t you download the 30-day trial and see for yourself? Only you can determine if it’s worth getting for you. ACID Pro 6 is a huge leap from ACID Pro 5 and is worth every penny IMHO. However, if you are still just dragging loops into ACID 2 are happy with that, all the multi-track recording capability will be a waste to you. So really, only you can determine its worth. Download it and see.

I sat 5.0 out so I upgraded from Acid Pro 4 and the improvements are absolutley stunning. I have only had a little time to play with it last night so I cannot really comment on the new features but what amazed me is that playback was actually smoother than 4.0. My computer is really not the latest and greated (AMD Athlon 1.0GHz but with 1G of RAM) and it played the demo project as well as my old ones flawlessly.

I can't wait to get into recording and editing. I have been using Sonar a lot more in the last couple years but I'll be able to unistall it and work only in Acid from now on. From the little experimenting I've done so far, Acid 6 is performing a lot smoother than Sonar did and better than Acid 4 so I'd say it's definitley worth the upgrade!

I sort of hate to say this, but I'm too frightened to download the demo :-( The unhappiness I had with the last two versions really shot my confidence with Acid. Now I use Sonar, but would love to come back if this is stable enough.

What I'd really like to see though are some shots of the MIDI editing. Are there any decent screen grabs around (besides the blurry old promo shots) ?

Dude wait till the 6.0a release is out and checkout the demo. I think what your doing is best. Get your work done on whats proven and wait for AP 6 to prove itself. You won't be waiting long. ;)

I don't really see the point in waiting for an update before using the demo. An update doesn't mean it will definitely work on a given system.

ACID 6 works great on my rather old system. What's the worse that can happen? A blue screen and the complete wiping out of your drives? Not even Sony are that good at sabotage. :))

+1 Spectralis

I can't wait to be able to devote more time to it but right out of the blocks, AP6.0 works better than AP4.0f on my (also) aging system.

I have also upgraded my soundcard's drivers to the latest version (KX Project 3538j) which had the ASIO driver rewritten. It ran my old projects better than 4.0f so I'm a happy camper. Can't wait to dig in deeper!
