yes, no, maybe? Nobody knows?

Yep it does, though doesn't seem to handle PDC very well, as far as I understand, large latencies are involved - this seems to create gapping and other problems. Examples I know of are SIR and the UAD plugins.

We handle Plugin Delays automatically - always have.

There is no more latency than any other host introduces. The delay is defined by the plugin and is dependent on the audio hardware buffer settings.

Ben how have you come to "understand" this?

Have you experianced what "seems" to be gapping and "other" problems?

Can you be specific what these "other problems" are?

Can you provide me some specifics so I can look into these issues you have?

Thanks,
Peter

Thanks for the replies.
I'm using VSTs trough an adapter now, going that way PDC doesn't seem to work so I'm considering upgrading to Vegas6 and DVDA bundle for the native VST support and mpeg render direct from the timeline instead of using a third party encoder. Downloading the demo now.

Peter,

Vegas exhibits both gap and lag when acoustic mirror is inserted or removed during playback (tracks jumble and go out of sync by the length of the IR, also seems to occur with the IR-1 and Q-Clone (though Q-Clone exhibits it less) Probably other high latency plugins might do similar but I can't say for sure - I keep a very tight ship as far as dsp goes. Not worth it to experiment during business hours.

A stop and start resets them back to compensated. That might be what he's referring to - I have yet to see anything but convolution plugins create that sort of side effect otherwise though. Render output is unaffected in any case. I don't consider it a bug as much as that it probably was never designed to expand and contract buffers like that in a playback sense. Otherwise, I've never seen it fail in playback or render with any sort of standardised plug-in
