Subject:Importing a MIDI file into ACID

I have a MIDI file that I have imported before into FL Studio and now want to try in ACID to practice playing Kontakt multimbrally in ACID.

It contains 8 piano rolls that loads to 8 tracks (channels) in FL Studio and plays perfectly on 8 Kontakt ouputs/8 midi channels.

When I import the same file into ACID, however, instead of having each piano roll (midi channel) load as a separate track, the whole file loads all the MIDI data to one MIDI track with the individual instrument parts loading in sequence, one behind the other on the timeline. I end up with 600+ measures of MIDI, instead of 70 or so in the original file.

I guess the obvious question is: does ACID have the same one cilck MIDI import function as what I had In FL Studio?

I am surprised they are behind each other on the timeline. They should have all been stacked as channels on one track and you should have been able to assign Kontakt to that track and have all 8 channels play through Kontakts 8 outputs.

I have a tutorial on my web site on Using StolenTrack to extract MIDI tracks to ACID tracks that might help you out.
