ACID Pro 6 software includes a custom edition of Native Instruments KOMPAKT.

This was on the new brochure. I also noticed that since they changed the date, they also changed the brochure. Do you suppose that the addition of Native Instruments KOMPAKT was the cause of the date being pushed from March to April. Also my next question is, is the addition going to bump the price up?

I've checked that NI Kompakt bundles 200 instruments instead 120 instruments Acid custom version for the same US$200 value as in Acid Pro 6 brochure.

One of the reasons that software comes bundled is to get you to upgrade to the full version. I wouldn’t expect Native Instruments to give away a $200 plug-in for free. Maybe some of the 120 instruments aren’t available in the 200? Sony may have custom picked the best of the library. You just don’t know until you get it and see. The fact that you are getting 120 instruments and a quality plug-in for with ACID Pro 6 is great.

well 80 less instruments and the same US $200. the thing is are they going to bump the price of the Acid Pro 6 package up because of this. are they going to bump it up the extra $200. if they do then that is bogus. but if they toss KOMPAKT in there for free without any price change, then that is a sweet deal.

ACID 5 didn’t cost any more because it was bundled with NI Express keyboards. Bundled software is usually free.

I must say it was good to read Rednroll telling 'em all about the virtues of Vegas and Acid - lots of good detailed comparisons.
I'm one who is used to a notation interface with Logic 5.5, but I'm prepared to retrain myself, and I'm really looking forward to AP6 so I can finally bid farewell to the program I used for ages (started with Notator on Atari ST!) but was purchased and discontinued for PC by those Apple bastards!

Although there's no staff notation editor in ACID 6, it seems that one is in the pipeline and it's certainly something I'd welcome.
